Your car, van or motorcycle’s MOT expiry date will be extended by 6 months if it’s due between 30 March 2020 and 31 July 2020. This is due to the Covid-19 outbreak, this date can be changed by the government at any point so please keep up to date with this information.

You will need to visit the government website to check if your car still has a MOT. Remember if your car does not have a MOT then you will not be able to apply for your tax. You need a Valid MOT and insurance before you can get your car road tax.

An MOT on a car (class 4 vehicle) we charge £35, we do not charge a retest fee. Please be aware some MOT stations charge less then £35 but they will fail the car and then charge a full retest fee of £54. This is how they con you into making money. The maximum MOT any MOT station can charge is £54.85.

How often is a car mot done?

A Car that is 3 years old or over must have a current MOT test certificate and you must renew this once a year. If you own a car, it is  the responsibility of the owner to make sure that it gets its MOT done annually. You can find out your MOT expiry date by looking at your test certificate
